Shipping Fees and Process

When purchasing a physical good (e.g., contests, publication, etc.), we require a valid email address, shipping address, as well as valid billing information. You are responsible for monitoring your method of payment and acknowledge that, if necessary, we reserve the right to reject an order (e.g., due to errors or omissions in the information you provide to us). We also may request additional information from you prior to confirming a sale. We reserve the right to place any additional restrictions on the sale of any of our products.

For each group of contests (except the Beaver Computing Challenge, Canadian Computing Competition, and Canadian Team Mathematics Contest), there is a shipping fee to cover the cost of sending contests to schools:

  • $5.00 for schools in Canada
  • 15% of the contest registration fee for schools outside Canada
    (minimum charge: $10.00 per order)

For the Pascal, Cayley, Fermat, Fryer, Galois, Hypatia, Euclid, and Canadian Senior and Intermediate Mathematics Contests, schools are required to independently arrange and pay for return shipping and any applicable duty fees for all completed contests. If contests are returned to the CEMC where applicable return shipping/duty fees have not been paid, we reserve the right to refuse acceptance of the returned package.

Unfortunately, the CEMC is not permitted to ship contest materials to certain international locations, due to the absence of a courier service from our country to these locations. Under these circumstances, the possibility of making alternate arrangements can be discussed by email.

For online book orders: All shipments will be made by Parcel Post. Please allow at least 10 days for delivery in Canada, and 4 to 6 weeks for delivery to major centres outside Canada. Remote areas can take longer. If your books are damaged or your shipment is incorrect, please have your order number ready and contact us by email or at 519-888-4808.

Suspension of Services

If any amount owning for CEMC contest services is not paid within 60 to 90 days after the contest, we may, without limiting our other rights and remedies, deem your fees immediately due and payable, and suspend our services to you until such amounts are paid in full. The University of Waterloo Office of Finance and the CEMC will contact clients with overdue amounts owing to arrange for payment.

Becoming a CEMC "New School"

If a school is not already in our system and wishes to participate in CEMC contests, the Principal or Head Math Teacher must fill out and submit a New School Application Form to apply as part of our CEMC school database. These application forms are manually reviewed and may take approximately three weeks to process, before a school will receive a CEMC School Number and confidential password with which to order contests. Please note that processing an application may take longer during busy contest deadlines.

The CEMC reserves the right to decline any application to join our school database. Please contact us by email or call our customer service team at 519-888-4808 for further information.

CCC Late Ordering and Late Fees
